I guess it’s a continuation on the theme of Easily Satisfied. Live life to its fullest. This one inspired by a documentary I saw about a women who has synesthesia. Her senses are fused to such a degree that she not only hears, but also tastes musical notes . She also sees colors when she hears certain notes or sounds.

I have had several friends who have died from slow painful diseases. Cancer, ALS… I was amazed both by their bravery and my own awkwardness in the hospital visiting room.

Andrew Smith originally came up with this song concept, most of the lyrics and the great melody line. Ultimately the reason it is on this album is because of that beautiful melody. It reminds me of the old time country songs from Hank Williams and that whole era; when melodies were not just catchy but classic.

This song is dedicated to all the super jocks and ‘ladies men’ that I knew in high school. I used to be in awe of their dedication the craft of getting chicks.

I am hoping that by the time this CD is released this song will be a bit outdated. Like many people I am disturbed by the images on CNN of Ghaddaffi giving a speech, more like a rant, from on top of his palace walls. How does a man’s ego get that big? Incredible. Sad. Dangerous.

This song written way back in 2003. US had invaded Iraq. With the all the political rhetoric flying around. I was wondering if anyone had any real answers.

This one has been a favourite at concerts for years now. I love the Celtic feel of it and the the big chorus tag. It feels good to sing it. I wrote this one for my wife Loralee about 6 years ago.

We are now starting to understand this thing called 'global community' a little bit now but the true ramifications of it are still emerging. Right now we have the Arab Spring, Occupy Wall Street, problems with the Euro Zone economy and nuclear meltdowns in Fukushima. These, along with countless other events are affecting us all. It used to be a long way between continents but now we are standing right next to each other it seems. An unpaid debt in Greece can eventually affect what happens to a guy looking for a job in Iowa. A large wave hitting the Japanese coast can cause a spike in radiation levels in Canada. We are all in this together.
